Urban Development
Science City Lyngby works towards a vision of creating an attractive university town with superb facilities that can attract and retain international as well as Danish professionals, scientists, students and their families. We wish to be attractive for companies of all sizes, nurture entrepreneurs and facilitate collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
Our strategy for 2020-2025 focuses on creating a so-called Innovation District inspired by Brookings Institution. In Innovation Districts future products and solutions are developed, and we have all the components here in and around the DTU Campus to be part of and contribute to healthy and green solutions.
Forum for Urban Development
In 2019 our board established a Task Force for Innovation District. The task force’ role was to discuss and advice the board and the secretariat in the implementation process towards 2025. The task force is in 2023 transformed into a new Forum for Urban Development.
The forums’ participants share knowledge around city development in broad terms, and on certain areas and developments in detail to secure a more coherent development of the city, which supports the visions of an innovation district: that knowledge is produced in partnerships, and that new solutions can be co-created between existing companies, start-ups, students and researchers.
The real estate business and investors can support future knowledge production and innovation through a broad offering of buildings: students dorms, living labs, offices, incubators and co-working spaces that support collaboration and co-creation.
That is why a close dialogue between all city stakeholders is crucial to support all actors in a city including retail. Without a thriving city and creative joint meeting places, no innovation will take place.
If you wish to know more and maybe participate in the forum, do not hesitate to contact CEO Marianna Lubanski.
We strive to build a city which supports innovation, co-creation, entrepreneurship and quality of life – at the same time. To succeed we need a strong local partnership involving all stakeholders in a close dialogue = Science City Lyngby.
