Smart City of Knowledge
Lyngby as a Living Lab for smart urban development
Background
Smart urban development requires access to information and data on the existing urban areas and calculations on new urban spaces. Construction and development activities in Lyngby are developing rapidly with the establishment of several new corporate headquarters and domiciles, the development of a knowledge-intensive business centre close to the university campus, as well as development opportunities for the city centre in connection with the upcoming light rail. The aim of the Smart City cooperation is to ensure the best and most energy-efficient construction and renovation processes in Lyngby.
The Smart City project was initiated by the Network for Climate and Green Technology.
Purpose
The objective is to make Lyngby-Taarbæk a living laboratory, which uses real data from the city to develop new technologies and use information to create a more coherent city. Using the knowledge and data gathered, tools can be developed to provide citizens, developers, politicians, companies and others with a better foundation for making decisions when starting construction and renovation projects in Lyngby.
