Task Force for Innovation District
Science City Lyngby has a clear vision for 2025.
Our ambition is to develop an innovation district with a clear profile which can strengthen our identity and position in the global competition for global talent and companies. The goal is to support continuous development and growth and an integrated eco-system in and around Lyngby and the DTU Campus.
The strategy means that we strive to open up the city and demonstrate the knowledge production taking place; that we share knowledge, facilities and meeting places, for knowledge and relations to flow freely and support future innovation. We believe in relationships, partnerships, and co-creation – and an innovation district way of thinking is meant to support exactly that!
In 2019 our board established a task force for Innovation District. The task force’ role is to discuss and advice the board and the secretariat in the implementation process towards 2025.
The task force share knowledge around city development in broad terms, and on certain areas and developments in detail to secure a more coherent development of the city, which supports the visions of an innovation district: that knowledge is produced in partnerships, and that new solutions can be co-created between existing companies, start-ups, students and researchers.
The real estate business and investors can support future knowledge production and innovation through a broad offering of buildings: students dorms, living labs, offices, incubators and co-working spaces that support collaboration and co-creation.
That is why a close dialogue between all city stakeholders is crucial to support all actors in a city including retail. Without a thriving city and creative joint meeting places, no innovation will take place.
Participants in the task force are:
The municipality of Lyngby-Taarbæk, Microsoft Development Center Copenhagen, COWI, Danica, Velliv, PensionDanmark, PFA, DEAS, Johannes Fog, DTU Campus Service, DTU Science Park, DTUs Boligfond, Copenhagen Business Academy, Aquaporin, NCC Property Development, EMCON, and KAB/Lyngby Boligselskab.
If you wish to know more and maybe participate in the task force, do not hesitate to contact CEO Marianna Lubanski.
