Experience high spirit, be influential – use your vote !

“Be part of Election Day on November 18. It is a special day and I highly recommend everybody to come and feel the engagement and high spirits for yourselves – whether you are going to vote or not. Just for the experience. It is truly something special in Denmark and for many Danes!”, said City Mayor Sofia Osmani from Lyngby- Taarbæk kommune.

At the event ‘Insights on Democracy’ we exchanged knowledge, viewpoints and experiences.

As an international you are luckily used to handle complexity and challenges –  we are sure you will find it easy to remember the following rules on rights to vote at the local and regional elections in November.

As an international you can vote if you:

  • are above 18 years of age
  • permanently reside in Denmark (in the municipality/region)
  • 1) you are a citizen of another EU Member State or Iceland, Norway or the UK, or 2) have been permanently residing in Denmark for at least 4 years.
