“Everybody can have a burger and fries once in a while”

Great attendance this morning in Lyngby and a lovely diverse group of (mostly) international attendees – just lovely

“OVERconsumption of Ultra Processed Foods is bad for you. No doubt about that! But. The keyword is OVER. Everybody can have a burger and fries once in a while”

– so were the words from Niels Riis, VP and Regional General Manager at IFF, as we dived into the world of IFF.
IFF serves fragrances, food colours and tailored solutions for a variety of markets, including beverages, bakery, dairy, snacks, culinary, bars, and confectionery – aaaaaaand they serves a great breakfast! That we learned at this morning’s INSIGHTS FOR BREAKFAST.

But there are also many opinions and myths about Ultra Processed Foods which today’s morning shed some light upon. We reflected on the balance in healthy diets based on most natural ingredients and how the Danish Food Pyramid serves a fine guideline. But also worth bearing in mind is that “If you stop eating Ultra Processed Foods, it will cost you time and money” as Niels pointed out was one of the conclusions from an OECD-report. Because context matters.

🌍 Nadine Dißemond and Leonardo Rubio Anselmi, two international employees at IFF shared their greatest advices about speaking your mind, the power distance or lack of it sometimes, Janteloven, how to cope with the Danish weather, how Danes say a lot more than just words and other key insights into Scandinavian culture – in and outside the work place.

IFF recently opened a location in Lyngby, and the setting in Denmark is partly because Denmark supplies more food ingredients per citizen than any other country in the world. It takes innovative ingredients to meet world demand for safe, healthy and delicious foods.

Danish companies have a 14% share of the global ingredient market – exporting as much as 98% of the ingredients they produce.
