Special Event – The Snow Queen by HC Andersen in Dyrehaven

Join us on an enchanting summer evening in June to experience an unforgettable performance of H.C. Andersens “The Snow Queen” in an open air theatre

The play is performed in Danish, but before the curtain rises you have the opportunity to meet up and hear about the play and gain insights into the production of a large scale outdoor theatre production is a Unesco protected forest. Talk by project director Oliver Campbell-Calder.

The play is renouned Danish writer Kim Fupz Aakeson’s interpretation of the classic fairytale “The Snow Queen”. Aakeson is known for his children’s books and succesful film manuscripts.

Kim Fupz Aakeson rewrites Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytale into a spectacular open-air performance, a narrative about braving fire and water for the one you love. Nicolei Faber directs the tale as a journey through worlds filled with magic, dangers and mystery.

Oliver Campbell-Calder, Project Director at The Royal Danish Theatre, will introduce the play. As The Snow Queen is entirely in Danish, attend our pre-performance talk to hear about the story and theme, setting the stage and allowing you to enjoy the play regardless of your Danish abilities.
