Traffic and mobility
Collective, accessible and green traffic
Lyngby-Taarbæk is in a process of rapid development and The City of Knowledge – in close cooperation with several key partners – is analysing the traffic habits of employees and students. The project is designed to increase satisfaction among employees, visitors, students and citizens. It was initiated following the City of Knowledge’s general meeting in April 2015 focusing on ‘traffic today and in the future’.
Comprehensive surveys are used to identify traffic patterns in Lyngby-Taarbæk and find solutions that encourage people to use alternatives to the car and create awareness regarding ‘mobility management’.
Furthermore a project network on traffic is established consisting of companies, Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality, retailers and educational institutions with the aim of creating a forum for dialogue and mutual knowledge sharing on traffic and transport.
In cooperation with Movia, Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality and DTU, the City of Knowledge has carried out extensive mobility surveys in a number of companies and organizations in Lyngby.
The surveys take place in order to promote the use of public transport and green transport among corporate employees and visitors. The results of the survey enable:
- Mapping of current transportation habits among employees
- Analysis of the survey results
- Best practice and new ideas for easy-to-implement activities
- Follow up to assess the results
Project network on traffic
In the autumn of 2016, the members of the City of Knowledge were invited to participate in a project network on traffic. This network is being continued in 2017 with two annual meetings.
The overall purpose of the network is to create a forum for dialogue, mutual knowledge sharing and information on traffic and transport across the members of the City of Knowledge.
Next meeting of the project network will be held on June 13 2017 at 3pm-5pm. More information to follow.
