New in Denmark and looking for a bank account?

To open a bank account in Denmark can be tricky for international newcomers. In order to assist international students and professionals in and around Lyngby, Danske Bank in Lyngby now provides extended opening hours and additional English-speaking staff to help open a bank account and answer questions:

Monday, January 22 and Monday, January 29, 2018 from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. 
No need to sign up in advance – just show up.

You are always welcome to stop by the branch in Lyngby during normal business hours on Mondays through Fridays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (Thursdays until 5:30 pm).

To make the process of opening your new account as quick and easy as possible, Danske Bank recommends that you complete an Account Opening Request Form and bring it along together with the documents listed below.

If you are a citizen of an EU country:

  • Your passport
  • Documentation of your civil registration number (CPR No.) or health insurance card (not temporary health insurance card)
  • Letter from your employer/university stating the length of your stay in Denmark

If you are citizen of a non-EU country:

  • Your passport
  • Documentation of your civil registration number (CPR No.) or health insurance card (not temporary health insurance card)
  • Letter from your employer/university stating the length of your stay in Denmark
  • Residence permit
  • If you are a US citizen, please bring your social security card
