Hempel expands HQ in Lyngby

Being a global company with an ambitious growth strategy, the closeness to DTU and the vision of the City of Knowledge have been key to Hempel’s forthcoming plans with the new 12,000 m2 building site, which Lyngby-Taarbæk municipality offered for sale in 2017. The site between Lundtoftegårdsvej and Helsingør highway, just opposite to Hempel’s existing domicile, will thus be used for an operation- and research center and become workplace for more than 200 new employees and international researchers in the near future.

“As an element of our growth strategy we want to invest in innovation, knowledge, new technology, research and collaborations with leading universities and researchers… it is important to ensure long-term growth and development, but also to develop future products and services. With Hempel Campus, we invest in our future.” says Henrik Andersen, CEO in Hempel A/S.

Lyngby-Taarbæk municipality also welcomes the project. “I am pleased that Hempel decided to buy the site so that they can continue to develop their activities in Lyngby. At the same time, it is also very positive that the company’s project has a smaller volume than was originally possible in the area, as it now provides opportunity for better harmony with the existing surroundings. Futhermore, Hempel will help to increase the number of workplaces and support the vision of Lyngby-Taarbæk City of Knowledge, which is central to the business development we want in the municipality.” says Mayor Sofia Osmani.

Hempel Campus is expected to be ready in 2020.
